The Scottish Highlands contain some of Scotland’s most stunning scenery, including National Parks and vast areas of unspoilt wilderness. From the vibrant city of Inverness and Loch Ness (Home of Nessie the Loch Ness monster) through the Caledonian Canal to Fort William the adventure capital of the UK, to the tranquil and peaceful Islands, the Inner and Outer Hebrides, and the Isle of Skye (great place for sunsets), its a place that has something for everyone.

The Highlands of Scotland are known for their rich cultural heritage and historical background, many visitors come to the Highlands to trace their Scottish ancestors, or visit Scottish Castles, Museums, and other Scottish historical sites. Others come for a great holiday at the various Scottish Hotels, Bed and Breakfast, Castle Accommodation, Apartments, Scottish Highlands Cottages, Farm Accommodation, Pub Accommodation, Campsites and Caravan Parks or Youth Hostels.
Eating and drinking is one of Scottland’s pastimes and is well catered for. The region offers an eating choice of Pubs, Restaurants, and Highland Cafes and Tearooms. Whether young, not so young or a family there are plenty of Indoor Activities and Outdoor Activities. Activities include: Walking, Hiking, Golf, Fishing (including Fly Fishing), Cycling, Mountain Biking, Falconry, Kayaking, Canoeing, White-water Rafting, Bungee Jumping, Mountaineering, Rock Climbing, Quad Biking, Whale Watching, Bird Watching, Wildlife Expeditions, Bowling and Swimming. Alternatively you could view Ben Nevis (Highest Mountain in UK) via the Gondola, or have a picnic at a country park or by a Loch in the Highlands (see Scottish Loch Guide), take a ferry to one of the Islands, or visit some of the historic Castles.
