Lairg

Lairg is a small rural village in the centre of Sutherland county, right in the heart of what has been described as the last great wilderness of Europe.

If you want to get right away from the worries of everyday life then Lairg is the place for you.

It boasts beautiful scenery, forest walks, hill walking, fishing, bird watching, a variety of shops and plenty of different accommodation.

The Falls of Shin, famous for its leaping salmon is situated only four miles from the village and all within one hours drive of Inverness.

Lairg is an ideal base to explore the remote northern counties, with return excursions to the east, west and north coasts all within a day’s access.
