Brodie Countryfare

For a perfect family day out, consider shopping and dining at Brodie Countryfare.  Located near Brodie Castle by Forres, this delightful family business has been open since 1976.  The Christmas season is the ideal time for stopping in at Brodie Countryfare.  You can enjoy browsing through an enormous selection of goods in their multi-department shop, see the elaborate Christmas displays, and enjoy a meal in their traditional family restaurant.  Brodie Countryfare is a lovely day out where you can find “quality in the country.”

Visit ladies’ fashion to find that perfect outfit for any occasion.  Bubbles is the name of their ladies’ fashion department, and they carry a select range of designer brands.  Whether you’re looking for evening wear or a wedding outfit, coats and snuggly sweaters, or belts, hats, and scarves, you can find it at Brodie Countryfare.  If you’re looking for fashion that suits your active lifestyle, then check out the ladies’ leisurewear department.  Top quality fleeces, jackets, winter wear, and active wear are to be had in this department.  Men are not left out, either!  The men’s wear department has everything for the casual man—casual trousers, shirts, sweaters, and sweatshirts in quality brands.  Peak Performance is their outdoor range with all kinds of versatile active wear for men.

If you’re shopping for the home, as well, then wander through Brodie’s extensive giftwares department.  Here you will find all kinds of lovely items to help you create a beautiful interior.  From kitchenware and accessories to bathroom styles and furniture, Brodie has it.  They also offer a candle shop, soft furnishings, and thousands of gift ideas.  As well, they handle local art and pottery, including Highland Stoneware and Tain Pottery.

Naturally, you will find something for the kiddies.  Brodie Countryfare has a fantastic toy department for children of all ages, from babies to teens.  Traditional toys and wooden toys are some of their featured items, as well as activity packs and educational games.

Once you’ve shopped till you’ve dropped, head over to the wonderful traditional family restaurant located right in the store.  Brodie’s restaurant is award-winning, and it offers something for everyone.  If you just have a penchant for a cuppa and a cake, indulge in one of their fabulous homemade baked goods and a wide range of coffees and teas.  Perhaps a light lunch would suit better?  They always offer a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, and homemade soups, served with salad and fries, or perhaps a homemade oatcake.  If this is your main meal of the day, then treat yourself to a hot meal—perhaps Roast Scotch Sirloin of Beef, a chicken dish, fish and chips, or the special of the day.  Specials are served from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM only, but the full menu is available all day long.  Ingredients are locally-sourced and all food is made fresh in their kitchens daily.  There is a large staff to make your dining experience run as smoothly as possible, and there is ample seating to accommodate a large crowd of hungry shoppers.

Chances are, you’ll enjoy the food so much, you’ll want to take some home.   You have the perfect reason to stop in at the food hall before you go and stock up on Brodie Countryfare’s gourmet selections.  The food hall and delicatessen at Brodie Countryfare has a huge selection of local, Scottish, and international foods.  Whether it’s handmade chocolates or gourmet chutneys, honeys and jams, olives and deli meats that tempt your fancy, you can find them all here at the Brodie Countryfare food hall.  You will also find a wonderful choice of freshly baked goods—breads, cakes, pies, scones, donuts, and the like.  Pick up that perfect gift of a luxury food hamper chock full of Scottish and Speyside treats.  Or just stop by the candy counter for a slice of delectable homemade fudge, chocolate, or Scottish tablet.

Brodie Countryfare is the perfect shop-and-eat stop in the north of Scotland.  Located on the A96 just 3 miles east of Forres, it is easy to get to.  The shops and restaurant are open seven days a year, all year, excluding Christmas, Boxing Day, and the 1st and 2nd of January.  Opening hours are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM (5 o’clock in winter) Monday through Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM on Sunday (5:00 o’clock in winter).  For a great day out and a lovely meal besides, Brodie Countryfare is worth a special trip.
