HISTORY
Ardgour is situated at the Corran Narrows on the eastern side of the Ardnamurchan Penninsular.
The Corran Narrows is the part of Loch Linnhe that shrinks to approx 200 yards.
Here the ferry has plied to and fro for some hundreds of years, from just a rowing boat to todays modern, passenger / vehicle ferry. The ferry was upgraded to transport vehichles in 1935, this meant that the time-consuming but delightful journey round the loch was cut to just a simple crossing. On crossing the water, you enter into the beautiful but sparsely populated districts of Ardgour, Morvern, and Ardnamurchan , a very remote area which was relatively unknown and inaccessible to the traveller during the 1800's but now a very popular holiday destination.

ACCOMODATION

For centuries, travellers have enjoyed the famous West Highland welcome at this family-run inn, at the entrance to the 'Great Glen' . Our cosy, intimate restaurant offers a wide range of cuisine, including traditional scottish fayre and a selection of fine wines.

All meals are prepared by our chefs and use locally grown produce when possible. There are twelve excellent en-suite bedrooms, ranging from singles , doubles and twins to family rooms.

Five rooms are situated on the ground floor. All rooms have colour TV, hair dryer and coffee/tea making facilities. Best of all, every room has a lovely view across Loch Linnhe. The restaurant serves traditional dishes prepared fresh on the premises. Parts of the existing Inn date back to circa 1755 when it was rebuilt after being raised to the ground by Hanoverian Troopers . Good company can always be found in our bar, where fine beer and an extensive choice of malt whiskys can be enjoyed. Be careful ,  our drams are 35ml !
