The Scottish Cycle Centre was established in 1988 operating under the name WHEELS in Callander, The Trossachs and is owned and operated by Mark and Janet Shimidzu. By 1994 the range and quantity of bikes was exceeding the capacity of the site so plans were made for a purpose built cycling centre at a new site which opened in August 1997.

The Centre is located on the Venachar link of the SUSTRANS National Cycle Route 7. The Centre includes a bike shop and service centre, accommodation and conference facilities. For information about our accommodation facilities visit the Trossachs Backpackers web site.

To provide a centre to promote and support cycling activities in The Trossachs and Scotland; to assist cyclists touring locally or travelling long-distance cycleways through Callander and Scotland; to provide support such as maps, guides, spares, repairs and bike maintenance. To this end our bike hire service offers a range of bikes and accessories to suit the needs of visitors wishing to sample the local cycle tracks. Our bike shop stocks a wide range of bikes that should suit almost any potential purchaser. And all this is backed up by our expert cycling knowledge.
