Posted on Tuesday, 19 October 2010 07:10AM by Scottish Highland News

Nevis Range is one of the best-known ski resorts in Scotland, and it’s not just for ski buffs!  Nevis Range offers Britain’s only mountain gondola, with access to mountain trails and a restaurant and bar.  Activities abound year round at Nevis Range, including forest walks, cycling, mountain biking, ceilidh nights, and paragliding.  In the winter, enjoy fabulous skiing at all levels, snowboarding, and winter climbing.  Nevis Range offers 12 lifts for skiers and snowboarders.   During the snowy season, an early morning climbers’ gondola departs every day at 8:00 AM.  This year, after the spectacular snow of last season, the Nevis Range is updating all kinds of amenities, as another brilliant ski season is predicted for the Scottish Highlands.  The equipment rental building has doubled in capacity, so queue times are expected to be cut.  Fence lines have been moved to give greater and easier access to trails.  Season tickets can be paid by instalment again this year.  Finally, the café is being rebuilt with a view up the hill.  Nevis Range is accessed via Torlundy, Fort William in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.  The resort is located on Aonach Mor, the eighth highest peak in Britain.  It is signposted off the A82 between Fort William and Inverness.
