The club meets each
Wednesday night at T.R.A.C.C. At the Tain Royal Academy. More details
will be posted soon but please refer to the news page.
If
you are interested in archery you should check that the club you go to
has qualified instructors and the relevant disclosure, if you are
taking anyone under 17, and insurance certificates! The club was started in 1974 and is affiliated to the Scottish Field Archery Association (SFAA).
Mel
Brown is the chief instructor for the club he was UK Field Archery
Champion in 1989 and has been Scottish Field Archery Champion 5 times.
He shoots mostly flat and long bow. Mel is also a qualified coach
through the SFAA.
Sheila Brown shoots a
compound bow and is a qualified instructor through the Grand National
Archery Society (GNAS). Both Mel and Sheila have full disclosure
Scotland certificates.
All the necessary equipment is available at the club and beginners are made most welcome.
Membership
details have changed, annual membership is now £20. Sessions are
currently £4 for the evening, although due to high turnout this may
well be reduced.
All are welcome, a lower
age limit of 8yrs of age applies to children and all children between
8yrs and 16yrs MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
No
special clothing or outfit is required, although through the winter you
would be well advised to wear warm clothing as the range can be a
little on the 'cool' side. |
